Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo!

Remove bandage in your bathroom when you are ready to wash it.

First 3-4 Days: Wash your tattoo twice a day, and moisturize as needed.

Always wash your tattoo in hot water. Bath or showers are both acceptable, although a bath may be more effective. Allow your tattoo to soak in the hot water for ten to 15 minutes (this naturally opens the pores for a non-abrasive thorough cleaning) before washing with an anti-bacterial liquid soap. Be gentle and do not use a washcloth or anything that will exfoliate your tattoo. Only use your clean hands.

Gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not rub, or use a fabric with a rough surface.

You may also follow your wash with a witch hazel soak. Witch hazel is a natural and soothing astringent, which will close your pores again after your hot wash. Do not rub the witch hazel onto your skin with a cotton ball, rather pour it into a clean paper towel, and lay the soggy towel on your tattoo. Let sit five minutes, then remove and air dry.

Moisturize as needed with any fragrance free moisturizer. Always use clean hands when you moisturize. DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin, or any medicated or scented ointment.

Wear clean, soft clothing over your tattoo for the first two weeks: nothing abrasive, irritating, or clingy.

On the 3rd-4th day your tattoo will begin to peel. This is normal! Do not pick at the skin or scratch it. Moisturizing and washing will both help to relieve itching.

  • Do not touch your tattoo with unwashed hands.
  • Do not pick, scratch, peel, slap, rub, or irritate your tattoo.
  • Clean water while washing is good for your tattoo. Lake, river, ocean, chemical treated, or shared water are not good for the first two weeks.
  • Do not expose your tattoo to the sun for at least two weeks. After two weeks you may use sunscreen on your tattoo.
  • Do not let anyone touch your tattoo, unless they wash their hands.
  • Beware of dirty gym equipment, dirty surfaces and anywhere pets may lay. (Couches, Beds, etc.)
